First Vehicle, and a new chapter in my life

Hey yall,

I know it's been a while since I have posted on here, but life has been crazy.

Last week, and this week was a big week for me.  Last week, I bought my first my vehicle!!!!!! I got a 1986 Jeep CJ7, it has a 4cyl engine, 4spd transmission. When I bought it, I knew it needed a little work, and so far I have changed the oil, oil filter, spark plugs, plug wires, wipers, and wiper arms. I still have to rebuild the carb, fix the rear spring shackle, install a new driver side seat belt assembly, install a new radio, speakers, and clutch master cylinder.  I plan on fixing it up to where it is a dependable daily driver, and then try to sell it, and maybe make some $$$.  :)

Also, this past week, I quit my job at the boat shop. I felt that it was time for me to move on from there, and get my own business up and going.  I still have my ebay store that produces some income, but on the evening that I quit, I was asked to quote some custom hand forged strap hinges for a local log home company. While at the log home company, my dad and I were asked if we would be interested in building a log house!!!!!  I'm not sure if that will work out, but if not, we got some other potential construction jobs.

It feels good to be working for myself in a way, but at the same time it's kinda nerve racking, after getting used to a steady pay check. I can see now why some people are scared to quit their jobs and work for them selves, but I will never have a better time in my life to do this than now.

I like your new car! I just recently got my first car also. And started working an externship at the hospital (so new job also, sort of). I hope your business works out well!

Nice rig! I recently got my first car, too! It needs some work, especially body work. The body on the Jeep looks good from the picture! What do you plan to do to it for work?

Thanks yall!!!!

Well, so far I have replaced the spark plugs, plug wires, oil, and oil filter. I still need to replace the drivers side seat belt, rebuild the carb, and replace the hydro clutch master cylinder.
Besides all that I plan on putting a bikini top on it, replace the radio (the one in it was stolen), replace the speakers (again, stolen) and build what are called "tube" doors for it.
Right now, I just want to get it running, so me and my friends can go mudding this weekend!!! :)

Lol, one of my friends wanted me to turn my car into a mudding rig. It's a little Suby and I was like, "it gets 30+ miles to the gallon." I think I'll leave it this way.

With just some TLC, it’ll surely become a whole new car again. You can even customize it to make it more saleable. Replace those old parts and refurbish those parts that are still functional. I can't wait to see its transformation! I’ll look forward to it! @ Spartan Toyota & Scion

A new vehicle and new career path? This is a huge change in your life, and definitely a good one. Starting a new business is always a good start in anyone's career. It can be scary sometimes but the thought of succeeding is worth the risk. On the lighter note and quite late still, congratulations on your new vehicle. This is a very nice car. I hope you we're able to finish all the replacement your car needed.

New vehicle means new and more fun adventures to come. Just like the business venture you and your dad will start; it's a chance for you to cater your skills and talent. I hope the best for your business venture, so that you can support the maintenance needed for your new vehicle.
