Reflection of a Country Boy
Yesterday afternoon I had to drive over to the nights to give them some eggs, and get some straw for the hen house. As I was walking across the porch I saw my reflection in the glass, and thought it would make a cool photo.
Also here is a few photo's of Mr. Knight training a dog to heard sheep. It is soooooo cool watching those dogs work.

A Good Day On and off The Farm
Well I would call today a good day. Fist off I aced my drivers test, then came home and finished building the wall in the shop, picked up some trash that was blown from the tornado that hit just down the road yesterday, and then went to the YMCA.
Building the wall was kinda fun, but it wouldn't have been with out my tablet hooked up to some speakers, playing a mix of country, rock, rap, and pop music. LOL I had those speakers turned up sooooo loud that it almost shook them right off the work bench. =O Getting the top "bands" were the hardest to nail up, because I had to hang from the other bands, hold on to the bord with one hand and nail with the other, THAT WAS TRICKY!!!! OHHHH and one time I was nailing above my head, and I had on foot on the ladder, and the other on a metal wall band, and the ladder started moving away. SO here I am 8 feet on a ladder, and it is making me do the splits!!!!!!!! I said to my self "this is bad" then looking down to see a piece of tractor equipment below me I said "and that's worse". So I just made a jump for it, and I would have landed on my feet, but my pant leg got hung on a nail, so I landed on one foot and then on my nose!!!!!! OHHH and just so yall know, a concrete floor, and a nose don't match LOL, ahhhh it wasn't that bad, but I pulled a musle in my back from landing on one foot. I think working out at the Y helped it though...... I guess I will know by in the mornin. LOL
I REALY like the "Y"!!!! Fist I biked 5 miles, walked 3 miles on the tread mill, did 120 arm curls with 35Lb weights, did 65 chest curls with 75LB weights, then lifted 145 LB weight 10 times, then leg curled 250 LB's, then hit the hot tub and swimming pool. What was funny about the leg curls, was that there was a body builder there, and he could only lift it 3 times, then I stepp up there, and did it 10 times. Upon seeing this the body builder threw his towel in the corner and said "Well I quit" LOL. Then when I did the arm curls, a young man asked if I worked out a lot, and I said no. Then he asked if I was a carpender, agian I said "No, I am a Blacksmith". "OHHHH so you shoe horses?" he asked........I hate it when folks ask me that........ So I told him "No I DON'T shoe horses, I am a artist blacksmith, so I make stuff that you would put in your house, or gates, or iron railing, ect." I guess he was asking, because he wanted to know why I was in good shape, but don't come to the "y".
So with all that being said, I am just a little tired. lol So I will post some photo's, type an email, and GO ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
It's about time!!!!!!!
Well this morin I went to the court house and took my drivers test and.............................................. I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just turned 19, and ever since I had turned 16 all my friends have been telling me to get my drivers licence. So I guess it is about time. LOL
Well I got to go work on the shop. :)

Life Is a streem
Last summer I would take my canoe up and down Trammel creek at least once a week. Most of the time I would go by my self, becase Dad cant row because of his bad shoulder, and most of my friends go to the lake. But being by my self I had time to think about life, and as I was heading back to the house one day I though of life like canoeing.
At times the water is slow and it seems like you are never going to get any where, then there are times when the current is so fast, that you can't see what is going on around you. Then there are the trial's of the rapids, they will test your faith and courage, and there are sand bars when you have to get out of your "confort zone" and portage. And just as you don't know what is around the next bend, nor do you know what it will look like in the future of your life. Finally you get to the end of your journy, and get to go home. There are hardships, but pleasures, so there is nothing to do but enjoy the ride, and take in the scenery.

Working on the HOSS
Well today was a kinda wild day!!! Right after I got up and goind this moring, Dad hollered for me to come on out and help him. MAAAN I didn't even get to drink one cup of coffee :( LOL So I went on out, and we looked at the back of the wood furnace, trying to figure out which pipes go where. Finally we got it all figured out, and hooked up.
Since we heard it was going to rain tomorrow, we got to work on filling up all the ditches that had been dug all over the farm for all the new water, and electric lines. Thankfully a friend of mine, and one of his friends came over and helped out.
With their help we were able to get it all covered up, but my shoulders and lower back are KILLING me!!!!!! So with that being said, I am going to BED!!! LOL
See Yall later

My new forge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I feel like I am finally getting some where with my blacksmith shop. LOL I got my new forge started!!!
Unlike the last forge I had, I am building this one out of concrete block, and later on I am going to face it with stone from the creek here on the farm.
Now what I need to do is go get a piece of plate steel 4x4 and 1/2 to 3/4" thick, and that will be the top of my forge.
My goal is to have my blacksmith shop up and running by the end of the month, but with all the work that needs to be done on the farm, I not sure that will happen.
Here is a small list of all the stuff that needs to get done here soon.
Hook up the wood furnace
clear out old fence rows & replace old wire with new
Put up a couple of miles of fencing
cut fire wood
put up the green house
blaze a new trail so I can get the team down to the creek bottom
get the barn fram work up.
so Like I said I kinda doubt that I will get my shop set up by the end of the month, but you never know.
Got the Barn Started!!!!!!!!
Well last week we got some people to come over to lay block for the barn foundation!!!!! I am glad I didn't have to do it!!! LOL

Doing a Little Fencing..... In the SNOW!!!!!!!
Well today me and Malachi put up some fencing up in the upper field, but not long after we got up there it started to snow, and the temp took a nose dive!!!!!! it got down to 30 degree's with 30 mph winds, so we stayed pretty cool.
It took us most of the day to put it up, but part of that was because of us taking a few coffe breaks!!!! That in its self is kinda funny because Malachi thinks that drinking coffee is nasty, but in this cold weather it was pretty easy to turn him in to a coffee drinker!!!!!
When we got the first strand of wire out we both looked at each other and asked "What are we going to attach the wire to?" All of the post's that were already in place were just metal t-posts, and when you put in a barbed wire fence the corner post must be wood. So we had to go back to the house and get a wooden post and some post hole diggers. Then when we got ready to start working on the post I told Malachi "I will dig the hole and you put the post in place.... Savy?" With the ground so soft it took some doing to get the post set to where the tension from the wire wouldn't pull it right up out of the ground.
Here are some photo's of us working and just some pics around the farm.
